2022 – 2023 Player Registrations
Kindergarten thru 1st Grade Registrations are now closed. Please join our waitlist if you’re still interested. Once a position becomes available we will reach out via email on a first come, first serve basis. There is no guarantee a spot will become available.
2022 – 2023 SnapDragons Registration
SnapDragons and WCYBA are a co-partnered sports organization. As a SnapDragon we accept all ages from toddlers, school age, and adults. The SnapDragons program accommodates all abilities and special needs. We offer a buddy system for those that may need more guidance then others. Currently we have approximately 10 teams, a Special Olympics Team, and striving to form a school age Special Olympics Team for the coming year. Cost is $45 and includes uniform shirt. The SnapDragons program is held out of the Union Township Civic Center. Practices and games are always on Sundays the time frame ranging from 12-6. Our season will be November 13-March 5th. 2022 – 2023 Coach Registrations
1. How do I request a coach?
With the number of athletes in our program, we are unable to accommodate special requests for coaches. Any player whose parent/guardian has volunteered to coach will automatically be placed on the same team as their parent/guardian. However We do keep rosters each year and as long as a player signs up on time we do our best to place back on the team from the previous year.
2. When do I have to have all fees paid?
All registration fees are due no later than December 2, 2022. Fees can be paid by Credit Card in TeamSnap, by cash or by check made payable to WCYBA. Any player with outstanding fees will not be able to play in any league games until all fees are paid in full.
3. When are select tryouts?
Select Tryouts will be held at the UT Civic Center on October 4th and 7th at the following times: 3rd grade boys 5:30pm-6:40pm; 4th grade boys AND 3rd-6th grade girls 6:30pm-7:30pm ; 5th and 6th grade boys 7:30pm-8:45pm. There will be a makeup date for all ages on October 8th from 12pm-1:30pm.
4. How many games do we play and where?
– 2nd grade will play 10 regular season games. Tournaments are TBD.
– 3rd-12th grade Recreation teams will play 10 regular season games with one guaranteed tournament game.
– Select teams will play 20 regular season games with one guaranteed tournament game. All home games will be held at UT Civic Center or Elite Athletics.
– Snap Dragons will play at UT Civic Center every Sunday. Start and end date TBA.
– K/1 will practice 30 minutes prior to each game on Saturdays at UT Civic Center. Start and end date TBA.
5. How much does it cost for my child to play? Do you offer discounts for multiple registrations?
We no longer offer discounts associated with multiple siblings in the league. Registration fees are as follows
K/1 Program – $65 ; 2nd Grade – $90 ; 3rd-12th Grade – $125 ; Select – $250
Additional costs not included in registration fees:
Referee Fee – Each team is required to pay one referee $35 per game (both home and away). These fees are collected by the coaches/team managers and may vary from team to team. Coaches/team managers will collect enough money for 10 regular season games + 1 tournament game to start. If your team continues to win in tournaments, you may be asked to pay additional referee fees
Gate Fees – Most CPYBL locations will charge a gate fee for entry to games. These fees will vary and are determined by location and are not controlled by WCYBA. Information about gate fee maximums and which locations typically charge fees can be found at cpybl.org/facility
Uniform Fees – beginning this season, each player is responsible for their own jersey. If your child has their jersey from last season that still fits, they may use that. If not, information about ordering a new jersey will be provided as soon as possible.
6. When and where will my child practice?
All practices will be held at Elite Athletics, UT Civic Center, Summerside Elementary, Willowville Elementary or Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary. Practice days and times will vary for each team and are decided by the coach. No team will practice before 5pm and after 10pm. K/1 program participants will practice 30 minutes prior to games on Saturdays. 2nd grade teams and 9th-12th grade teams will practice one night per week. 3rd-8th grade teams will practice two nights per week.
7. Where can I find the rules for this league?
Our organization is part of the Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball League (CPYBL). All rules and codes of conduct can be found at cpybl.org
8. What is the difference between Snap Dragons and 2nd-12th grade?
The Snap Dragons are an athletic league of players with special needs who may not be able to play in traditional athletic settings. This program runs within the WCYBA and is also run on volunteers to provide coaching and guidance to those that participate. All Snap Dragons games are held at the UT Civic Center each Sunday during the regular basketball season.
9. When does registration close?
Registration will close at 11:59pm on the following dates: K/1 Program 10/15/2022 ; 2nd – 6th grade 10/8/2022 ; 7th – 12th grade 11/1/2022**
**Note – registration close date may change for 7th – 12th grade as we will not close registrations until after school tryouts have concluded and teams have been announced.
